Off Camera Lighting With A Compact Camera?

A couple of days back I bought myself a compact camera to be able to use on days out with the family where I didn’t want to take the DSLR’s or quite simply couldn’t take them, and so the camera I bought was the Nikon S9900, a nice little camera with the usual manual controls I’m used to but beyond that it doesn’t compare to the complete range of shooting abilities I have with my DSLR’s where I can use flash compensation nor is it compatible with any creativity links …

For Family days out that is! Over the past 3 or 4 years the amount of photos I have in my portfolio has grown at a fantastic rate, with all the weddings and portrait sessions I’ve been lucky enough to have shot, and yet the number of images I have shot of my own kids and family has dwindled alarmingly. So I lit the couple with one flashgun through a 45×45 softbox. The weather had been mild …

Nikon D610 Review

Dominic Dorey Equipment, Nikon, Review 5 Comments

Back in March at the Photography Show in Birmingham, a show that was somewhat disappointing, I put an upgrade plan into action when I went ahead and bought a Nikon D610 to replace my D7000 with the aim of having two full frame cameras, being that my other camera is the D700, and so I thought I would do a bit of a Nikon D610 review. Though just to say this is no fanboy review, nor is it hugely comprehensive as I’ve only just put it through it’s first two …
